We are now experts in Dragonology!
We have enjoyed the role of becoming dragonologists in Year 6. We have been writing our own reports about dragons. We have linked our Art and English sessions together and have loved drawing and designing our own dragon eyes.

To finish off our topic 'Can you solve the mystery of the Maya?' We have enjoyed playing a version of a ball game that the Ancient Mayans would have played called Pok-A-Tok. This game is thought to have been invented around 200 BC.

Science Week 2020
This week all of our classes have been focussing on a science topic.
Year 1 - Animals inc Humans

Children have been observing changes, finding patterns, classifying and identifying, researching and performing all kinds of interesting, fun and crazy experiements!

We have been enjoying our art lesson this week. We are creating a 2D picture of the Kukulkan Temple using lots of different techniques. We will update our page once we have the finished masterpieces.

The Mayans were one of the first civilsations to discover chocolate. To start our new topic we have had a great afternoon tasting a range of chocolates.

European Day of Languages
We came to school dressed in red, white and blue because we are learning to speak French this year.
To launch our new MFL we enjoyed lots of different activities. Our favourite was tasting different French foods such as: baguettes, crepes, croissants, brioches and different French cheeses. Yum! Yum!

CHANGE YOUR MINDSET
To start our new year in Year 6 we have been thinking about having a growth mindset.
We did different activities to challenge our mindsets.
We now understand the difference between having a fixed and a growth mindset.

The Year 5 and 6 children were excellent ambassadors for our school when they attended the Netball tournement at De La Salle school last Friday. They played well and displayed excellent skills and sprotsmanship. Well done!

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic (and slightly messy ) time exploring the properties of materials; using slime, milk, bubbles and colour. They recorded what they had observed and thought carefully about the 'science' they could see happening. The children used some excellent scientific language to record their ideas.

ANIMALS TAKE OVER PART 2
Year 6 enjoyed their first day back after the holidays with a visit from Lyndsey and her friends. We enjoyed holding and hearing about a range of creatures from the rainforests.
