This half term, each class has been studying a different world religion. Members of our Rights-Respecting Steering Group led an assembly in which each class shared some of the knowledge they had developed about each faith:
Year 1 - Christianity
Year 2 - Islam
Year 3 - Hinduism
Year 4 - Judaism
Year 5 - Sikhism
Year 6 - Buddhism
The children talked about some of the similarities and differences between the religions.
This links to Article 14 of the UNCRC: Every child has the right to think and believe what they want and to practise their religion as long as they are not stopping others from enjoying their rights.

by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Many thanks to Emily Knight who will lay our wreath at the Remembrance day Parade on Sunday.
