Well, it's the end of another year! We wish all our Leavers - Y6, Mrs Hanstock, Mrs Hunter, Mrs Thurgood and Mrs Ward all the very best for their future endeavours. 

To everyone else who returns in September, have a very happy Summer Holiday. Come back to us safe and sound, looking smart and on time on Wednesday 7th September.

Teddy Bear's Picnic

Teddy  Bears  Picnic

Wednesday 13th July

Dear Children and teddies,

 You are invited to a teddy bears picnic in six sleeps time. We will be going on a nature walk with our teddies and then we will finish with a picnic at school.

You will need:

  • A teddy,
  • A waterproof coat,
  • Some wellies if it’s wet,
  • A sun hat if it is sunny.

Your teachers will provide the picnic food and we will be making cupcakes in school all week.

Foundation Stage Sports Day

Good Morning, sorry, unfortunately due to the rain overnight the field is too wet and slippery to have our F.S. Sports Day today. We've re-arranged for next Tuesday (28th), same arrangements as today. Sorry for the inconvenience :( 

Lyme's Musical Extravaganza Information

For the Musical Extravaganza on Thursday 16th June (this Thursday):

Can all Brass Band and Recorder please make sure that they bring their instruments and music in the morning for a rehearsal during the day.

Children performing will need to return to school for 5:45pm, ready to perform at 6pm (in school uniform), instruments can be left in school.

There will be no tickets, but donations will be welcomed on the night.

Note from Mrs Brooks: There will be no recorder group on Thursday after school

Note from Mrs Ward to Choir: You are performing at the Musical Extravaganza.

We have a new addition on our Foundation Stage playground. It's a writing shed where Mrs Cribb can challenge our youngest students to write something special with the best efforts winning something from our Prize Trolley.

Friday marks the Queen's official 90th Birthday and we'll be celebratng with a red, white and blue non-unifrom day and a special musical event with patriotic songs and music from our Brass Band and children.yes

Lyme's Brass Band

Well done to our brass band, who performed at Chester festival and were given a special mention by the Adjudicator. Thank you to Mrs Brooks and Mr Chadwick for their hard work too.

Happy 90th Birthday Ma'am

We sent our good wishes to the Queen by taking part in a special concert in her honour at Hope Academy. Our Choir and Brass Band took part performing brilliantly alongside Valley Brass Band and the Haydock Male Voice Choir. 

Well done and thanks to Mrs Brooks and Mrs Ward for preparing the children and helping them to practice enabling them to do so well on the night. 

 

ANOTHER 5* Cleanliness Award

Congratulations and well done to Linda our School Cook and Dee who had an unannounced visit today from the Council. Once again, they were given a 5 star rating, the best you can get, for the cleanliness and hygiene of our school kitchen.

Tasty Tuck Award

We are very proud as a school to have been awarded the Healthy Tuck Award from St Helens Council.

the Tasty Tuck Award was presented to 14 primary schools that encourage the positive health of children and young people by promoting healthier snacks and drinks during the school day.

This recognises our hard work in helping our students understand the need for a healthy diet and lifestyle. We are committed to improving the health of our school community.

 

Easter(ish) Bingo

What a fabulous night we had at our Student Council's Bingo Night. HUGE thanks go to Mrs Lammond and Jackie who were very ably assisted by Vicky and Miss Hope in organising and running the event with the Councillors. Our Student Council raised £378, some of which will be spent on new playground equipment for the summer term.

The evening was vey well attended and great fun was had by all (especially when Mrs Cribb got over excited!)

We are very grateful to all who dontated prizes and supported this event. yes

Cross-curricular Maths Day

Egg Book Character Competition

Here are the class winners of our story character egg decorating competition.

Very well done to everyone though! I ‘chickened’ out of the judging and handed the honour over to Mrs Cottrell one of Lyme’s Governors. The overall standard was amazingly high. Thank you so much for getting involved, I hope you had as much fun making them as we did looking at them.

Sport Relief Fun

Dance Performance

Our wonderful Academy of Sports Dancers finished off their 8 week course with an amazing performance for their families. The West End will be looking to recruit their next Annie from our amazing group.

Tasty Tuck Award
